Who We Are

Damian GordonDamian Gordon
Damian Gordon was admitted to practice on 10 June 1986 as a Barrister in the Supreme Court of Queensland. Damian is also admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the High Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory. He has lectured in both family law and employment law at Charles Darwin University where his students were both Australia wide and from overseas.

Damian was a former Mediator and Case Appraiser for the Supreme Court of Queensland and a former Dispute Resolution Practitioner of the Family Court of Australia. He has given numerous seminars to colleagues on behalf of LegalWise, the Law Society of Queensland and the Law Society of the Northern Territory.

Damian has been Counsel in cases which set the precedent for de facto relationships under the Family Law Act 1975 and has extensive experience in acting with children, particularly indigenous familial relationships and child protection. Damian has acted for both public and private sector insurers in respect to both commercial insurance matters and personal injury.

Damian has always had a strong interest in employer and employee relationships and the interaction of that relationship. Damian began his career in the Public Defender’s Office in Queensland in 1983. Now he predominantly practices in family law, commercial litigation and employment law.

Damian has a keen interest in AFL, rugby, netball and lunch on the weekend.


Sophia Wong
Sophia obtained a Juris Doctor from Murdoch University in November 2015 and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia on 3 June 2016 and joined the team at  DFG Legal as a Solicitor in February 2017. Prior to working at DFG Legal, Sophia spent 5 years working at Legal Aid Western Australia as a Paralegal.

Working at Legal Aid has given her a firsthand understanding of the importance of access to justice and the importance of providing affordable legal services.
Sophie spent her earlier years of study juggling two jobs as well as completing her University Degrees. She enjoys a challenge and finds it difficult to sit still.

Sophia’s particular areas of  practice are; Criminal Law, Family Law, Residential Tenancy Law and Wills and Estates.

Sophia has two elderly gentlemen horses, now retired, that she has had for over  20 years. She spends as much time as she can with them walking, grooming and just hanging out.

Sophia also enjoys watching and playing cricket and football and more importantly, spending time with her family and friends.

Sophia is a volunteer fire fighter and dedicates a large amount of her spare time to the Brigade as a fire fighter and she holds the position of Secretary at her Brigade.


Martin Fletcher
Martin obtained a Bachelor of Laws with Honours degree in Scots law from the University of Stirling in June 2011.  In December 2011, Martin relocated from his native Scotland to Perth, and completed a bridging course at Murdoch University in 2015 to obtain reciprocal recognition of his legal qualifications in all Australian jurisdictions.

He will commence further legal study in 2016 and aims to be admitted to the legal profession as a solicitor in 2017.  Martin has several years of experience working as a law clerk and paralegal in different firms in the Perth metropolitan area, and has therefore been exposed to a wide variety of legal matters and problems.  He takes a particularly keen interest in the fields of commercial and civil litigation, wills and estates and contract law. However, in all situations Martin is committed to finding the best and most equitable solution for the client. Outside of the law, Martin enjoys travelling, listening to music, playing and watching sports (particularly football and cricket) and reading.


Chris Gordon
By its very nature, a law firm deals with some very emotive circumstances. Chris is our Office Manager or as we like to say, our go to person. Chris’ attributes make her the ideal person to attend to the logistical needs of our firm.

These include assisting with clients’ procedural enquiries and to ensure that our professional staff are delivering the standard of service that is expected in a professional organisation. Chris’ background has involved managing the expectations of not only a significant number of employees but liaising and negotiating multi-million dollar contracts within both the public and private sectors.

Chris brings all of her experience to our firm to assist our clients and our staff to ensure that all expectations are met regardless of whether you are a staff member or one of our valued clients. In her spare time, Chris loves spending time with her beautiful grandchildren and lunching with family and friends.
